TEXAS HEALTH RESOURCES
BEDFORD, TX

Birch recently completed a 3,000-square-foot renovation project for Texas Health Resources in Bedford, which included modernizing an existing emergency department’s triage area and adding a new nurses station.
The space included new finishes throughout, an upgraded MEP systems, and a layout redesign to improve patient flow and staff efficiency. Key challenges included working in an active hospital environment with nearby patients, maintaining a fast-paced schedule to minimize disruptions, and managing long lead times for critical equipment. Birch’s healthcare team successfully navigated these complexities, implementing strict protocols to minimize impact and the use of negative air machines to control noise and dust. The result is a much improved ER triage area that will reduce wait times, improve patient assessments, and enhance emergency operations.
